Chapter One: Exposition

A young child sat on a tree branch, a few feet away from him was a blazing bright fire, he was staring up at the moon. The child’s silver tail was wiggling behind him and his yellow eyes shone, almost like the moon did something to him. Next to the fire, was a pre-teen who looked very similar to the boy, but his eyes weren’t golden yellow.

The little boy’s name was Ryushi Kido, he was a small 5 year old child while the teen sitting next to the fire was his older brother, Murai Kido, a 13 year old boy. These two sibs lived together and cared for each-other in a small house in the forest North of RockTown, which was about 132 feet behind them.

Ryushi and Murai’s parents have been missing for quite some time now, all they remember is waking up one morning and them being gone. Their mother was Sakane and their Father was Fujii. Ryushi and Murai don’t know anything about their disappearances, but all they know is that it broke their hearts.

Ryushi jumped down from the high tree branch and sat on the opposite side of the fire. He yawned heavily as the strong wind attempted to blow the fire out.

“Can you tell another story?” Ryushi asked his older brother. The heat from the fire that was being pushed on him kind of burned his skin, but he didn’t notice, he only noticed his tail being kind of itchy.

Murai stroked his hand through his spiky hair and scratched the back of his head as he gave a small laugh and smiled, “Why not?” The boy’s tail was lying in an ant pile, but he didn’t know.

“Let me think of a good tale.” he says as he taps his chin thinking, “I bet you wanna hear more about father’s shenanigans.”

“Yay!” Ryushi says as he playfully clapped his hands, as a small, young child does.

Murai took a stick and impales a tail of a random animal on it and holds it over the fire. He knew that Ryushi loved dragons, no matter what type. He decided to tell the story of when they all found a Dragon. It turned into a flashback as Murai told Ryushi the story.

Fujii was wondering around a random Tropical Canyon with his squad of warriors, Asai, Mikabe, and Oyama.
“Looks like we came to this stupid canyon for nothing.” Oyama complains as she pulls up her jacket to stop the collar from hurting her. Instead of a tail, she had bat-like wings.

“Stop complaining, Oyama, we came here for a good reason.” Fujii explains. He has a wolf tail, like his son. Looks like these tailed and winged people are a race. He starts running and jumping from the sides of the canyon and Oyama follows by flying. Asai shoots webs out of his wrists like a spider and swings to follow them and Mikabe grew scales and morphed into a giant rolled-up armadillo and rolls behind them.

Fujii keeps leading the squad until he spots a giant tree filled with juicy, delicious-looking red fruit. “Guys, I found food!” Fujii alerts to his adversaries as he leaps to the tree and picks a fruit. He takes a big chomp of the fruit and the flavor-full sweet juices just poured into his mouth. He chewed a little slower to savor it.

Oyama doesn’t eat the fruit because fruit doesn’t go in her daily workout or feast slots. Mikabe eats a lot of fruit because he needs to be a buff boi to win the weight-lifting contest. Asai just throws the fruit in the air  and catches it with his mouth. He then chews it and swallows it, then lays back on a pile of hay.

All of them, except Oyama, keeps eating the fruit until they are all gone, all the boys with full stomachs. All of a sudden, they hear a raspy but high-pitched voice in front of them say “Hey!! I traveled for 6 years to get this fruit and it’s all gone!” he says.

“You seriously traveled for 6 years for a freaking fruit?” Fujii asked trying to keep a straight face. He raises his head to see a guy with blue skin, orange hair and spikes coming from his back.

“You’re gonna pay for stealing my fruit.” he gets in a fighting stance, ready to kick their asses.

Mikabe gets up and says “Buddy, you think you’re really gonna stand a-” he is interrupted by the guy elbowing him in the gut and uppercutting him. Mikabe flops on the ground. Asai says “Stupid weakling.” to mock Mikabe and runs at the guy, full speed. The guy then backflips, grabs Asai’s face and yeets him into the sky.

Asai recovers mid-air and shoots web at the guy, who catches it and spins Asai around and yeets him into the side of the canyon. Oyama flies into the sky and uses Syria Energy to summon a bo staff with a yellow orb on top of it and uses it to fire continuous lightning bolts at the guy.

The guy turns around and lets the lightning bolts hit his back spikes and they turn from black to glowing yellow. He charges at Oyama at lightning speeds and kicks her in the face, sending her flying to the top of the canyon.

Fujii finally gets off his ass and jumps to the guy, but the guy dodges Fujii’s attack and elbows him in the back. Fujii is sent dragging into the dirt, but then the flashback ends,

Ryushi is asleep laying over the log he was sitting on. Murai laughed and yawned himself. He went and picked Ryushi up and his tail shaking off the ants that were trying to make a home on it. Murai got them to the forest house and laid him in bed and then Murai went to sleep himself wondering if Ryushi will ever be mature enough to handle the truth.
